THE OPPORTUNITY:

  • The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical-pneumatic machinery and equipment. This individual will have a considerable initiative to multi task in a fast paced environment and work proficiently both individually and as part of a team.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Manage Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) program
  • Coordinate records maintained via Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
    • Source and utilize alternate suppliers for Maintenance spares and materials, in conjunction with the Procurement Specialist
  • Communicate pertinent information to and resolve problems with various departments within organization
  • Develop and implement systems to maintain records on members, equipment, and compliance activities
  • Provide administrative, customer service and technical training for department members.
  • Support Maintenance practices and policies using Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, VSM, spaghetti diagrams etc)
  • Provide technical expertise to support SMT production and Engineering personnel
  • Provide administrative maintenance schedule, work order backlog, and equipment history records
  • Maintain equipment list and numbering system for calibration and preventative maintenance schedule
  • Actively support, participate in, and maintain the integrity and on-going function of DSM’s safety program; ensuring a safe/healthy work environment
  • Perform other duties as required
  • High School Diploma or GED and 10+ years of on-the-job training/experience.
  • Previous leadership, project management or involvement in continuous improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and training highly desired.
  • Analytical and strong problem solver – able to identify, escalate and effectively resolve issues using root cause analysis tools.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Able to learn and become proficient in the use of an ERP system and other databases.
  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills – ability to convey information clearly and concisely in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to multitask and effectively prioritize and perform tasks efficiently.
  • Self-directed and can work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work rotating shifts (days, afternoons, midnights) available for periodic overtime.
