  • The Jr. Inventory Accountant is responsible for providing analysis and support to the finance, production, and procurement groups. The chosen candidate will be working with the company’s inventory, completing various financial reports, and improving processes to increase efficiency.

  • Generate and maintain monthly reports on inventory levels, including reporting inventory levels and issues to the business
  • Develop an inventory budget and updated monthly forecasts
  • Perform analysis of inventory and report on significant deviations from budget and forecast
  • Analyze root causes of inventory issues and provide resolutions
  • Assist in inventory risk assessment and mitigation activities
  • Coordinate and ensure inventory counts are up-to-date
  • Manage inventory adjustments and transfers, including data entry for daily adjustments
  • Develop process improvements to achieve company inventory goals
  • Help develop and refine initiatives to reduce slow moving inventories and to improve inventory turns
  • Review inventory activities and recommend improvements
  • Ensure accurate and complete reporting of month end physical counts
  • Data entry including daily adjustments
  • Perform month end duties including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and inventory summaries
  • Complete various projects as assigned, including internal controls and external reviews
  • Maintain approved corporate standard internal reporting requirements in the plant to ensure accurate information of the plant’s performance
  • Diploma in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 – 3 years of accounting experience within a fast-paced environment, preferably manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, accounting, budgeting and financial analysis
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Expert proficiency with Excel (Pivot Tables & VLOOKUP’s)
  • Experience working within an ERP system (Made2Manage-Aptean considered an asset)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – ability to clearly and concisely convey information through emails, dialogue, phone calls and other correspondence
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to work with various departments to achieve results and meet targets
  • Analytical, problem solver – ability to identify deficiencies and provide solutions to problems

    • Calgary, AB T2C 5L9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)


    • Secondary School (preferred)


    • Finance/Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
